1. Getting Started
TriggerTrack is a web-based application, meaning there is nothing to download from the App Store. It works seamlessly on any iPhone, Android, tablet, or desktop computer.
- Navigate to app.triggertrack.co.uk in your web browser.
- Click Create one at the bottom of the login box.
- Enter your company email and choose a secure password.
- Once logged in, you will see your empty dashboard. It's time to set up your squad.
Pro Tip: On your mobile phone, tap the "Share" icon (iOS) or menu button (Android) and select "Add to Home Screen". This creates an app icon on your phone for instant one-tap access on site.
2. Adding Your Workers
Before you can log exposure points, you need to add the operatives who work on your site.
- From the main dashboard, tap the Manage Squad & Tools button at the top right.
- Under the "Manage Workers" section, type the operative's full name (e.g., "Dave Jenkins").
- Click Add Worker.
- Repeat this for all site operatives, agency staff, and subcontractors.
If a worker leaves your site, simply click the red trash can icon next to their name to remove them from your active drop-down list.
3. Building Your Tool Fleet
TriggerTrack relies on the vibration magnitude (measured in m/s²) to calculate statutory HSE points. You have two ways to add tools to your active fleet:
Option A: The UK Standard Library (Recommended)
We have pre-loaded the 18 most common high-vibration tools used on UK construction sites, pre-calibrated with manufacturer vibration data.
- In the Management view, click Select from UK Library.
- Scroll through the list of Stihl, Hilti, Makita, and Wacker Neuson equipment.
- Click Add to Fleet on the tools you use. They will instantly appear in your active tools list.
Option B: Adding Custom Equipment
If you have specific tools not in the library, you can add them manually. You will need to check the tool's manual or the manufacturer's website for the vibration magnitude.
- Under "Add Custom Equipment", enter the Make (e.g., "DeWalt").
- Enter the Model (e.g., "DCH273").
- Enter the Vibration Magnitude in m/s² (e.g., "6.6").
- Click Add.
4. Logging Daily Shift Exposure
Once your squad and tools are set up, logging exposure takes seconds. Click Back to Logger to return to the main dashboard.
- Select the Operative from the first dropdown.
- Select the Equipment / Tool they used from the second dropdown.
- Input the Trigger Duration (actual time the tool was vibrating, not total shift time). You can drag the slider, or tap the number box to type the exact minutes using your phone's keypad.
Understanding the Real-Time Indicator
As you adjust the time, TriggerTrack calculates the HSE points instantly. The indicator will change colour to warn you of legal thresholds:
Click Save Trigger Log. The record will drop into the "Shift Records" list at the bottom of your screen, and the shift total will update.
5. Exporting HSE Audit PDFs
Paper trails are the primary defence against HSE fines and injury claims. TriggerTrack generates formal, formatted PDF documents directly on your device.
- At the end of the day or shift, go to the Shift Records section at the bottom of the dashboard.
- Click the black Export Audit PDF button.
- Your phone or computer will instantly generate and download a file named
TriggerTrack-Audit-[Date].pdf.
This document includes the date, your company account name, a breakdown of every operative and tool used, their exact HSE points, compliance status highlighting (EAV/ELV breaches), and a formal signature box for the site foreman or auditor to physically or digitally sign off.
